Thankful

What are you thankful for in your life?

Thankful

Think about everything; the good, the bad, the pitfalls, valleys, and the mountain tops. The accomplishments and the failures, the dead ends, and the clear paths along your journey.

Take a moment and reflect on your life, and think about how it has led you to where you are right now. The prayers answered and the ones not answered the way you wanted; the lessons learned along the way and the growth you experienced from it all.

Everything happens for a reason. There is a plan for your life and all things come together when the time is right.

Count your blessings for it all, and be thankful for every step along the way.

All of that is what made your journey so unique and you so very special.

The Race

The race; the epic battle of the tortoise and the hare. The timeless fable of an overconfident hare that was sure it could beat the slow moving tortoise.

The Race

While the story seems to be about the race; it is a metaphor about life.

Life is like a race; realistically, a marathon. It has a beginning and an end, with a lot of distance in between. So many things can happen along the way; obstacles can pop up, staying focused, pushing yourself when you hit the wall, and pacing yourself to finish.

Rushing to the end and trying to have, and accomplish everything in life is not always the important part of the race. Slow and steady, enjoying the run and scenery along the way, will bring far more pleasures to life.

It is not important how you start the race; but how you run the race and finish it that matters. Enjoy the race of life and all that it offers.

Being a Survivor

Being a survivor is far more than meets the eye.

It is a major event in peoples lives. For some, it is surviving tragic events, cancer, other illnesses, or the loss of loved ones. For others, it is surviving struggles with physical, mental and emotional impairments. Then there are those that are surviving daily challenges in life such as unemployment, loss of income or barely making it, having a place to live, taking care of and feeding a family, staying healthy and surviving what the world throws at them.

Surviving is deep-seated in each person that takes a lot of effort, willpower, fear, desire, strength that you did not know that you even had, and a willingness to face and overcome something that is far bigger than you.

Being a survivor is much more than winning; it is the beginning of a new journey in your life. It changes your life forever and opens your mind, heart and spirit to the blessings in life that we take for granted everyday and a side of yourself that you may not even realize existed. It humbles you, teaches you lessons, and makes you stronger than you have ever been. Own it! You deserve it!

Being a survivor is one of the greatest blessings and gifts that is given to us.

Isaiah 26:3 NIV
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Your “But” is a road block

Your “But” is a roadblock

Your “But” is a roadblock that usually gets in the way. It pops up when you feel lazy, intimidated, scared, anxious, overwhelmed, having a lack of confidence, or when you are stepping out of your comfort zone. It is a quick response or an excuse to avoid doing something that we don’t want to do.

It rises quickly and stays, seating roots that make it hard to get rid of and then at times consuming you so much that it can create self-doubt, negative feelings, resentful emotions, anger and even depression.

Recognizing it quickly and taking a positive stance against it before it reigns is the key. Seeking help from a professional or from a friend for strength and comfort can be the change you need. Knowing the signs before it is upon you and standing your ground against it in the beginning is a win.

There is power within each and every one if you only dig deep and be humble enough to seek help when we need it. Don’t let pride stand in the way, causing you to battle it alone.

Be strong, fight the fight, never give in and, “Get your But out of your way” and you will have victory over Darkness.

Never give up

Never give up is an easy term to say and use. It is thrown around all the time, but in all actuality, it can be an extremely hard thing to accomplish.
It takes determination, a strong mindset, will power, and courage to see it through. Finding that reason and desire deep inside you to want to overcome any and all obstacles.
For some it is faith, for others it may be another driving force or circumstance that yields the desire.
You have two choices to decide from:
A desire to never give up, overcome everything, and be an example for many to follow, or a desire to quit, never try and fail from fear or lack of effort.

Never give up

Psalm 18:33 KJV
He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, And setteth me upon my high places.
