The Extra Mile

Going that extra mile is a cliché that so many use as a term rather than giving the phrase the impact it deserves. It is a simple term, yet is very complex in it’s variety of meanings.

Going the extra mile is going above and beyond, having a desire to give more than is expected; reaching out and helping people, doing things without being asked or expected, caring enough to dig deeper within one’s self to do more, without self-grattitude or motives.
It is the willingness to go the extra mile for another person or people with a caring heart and loving attitude.

Always go that extra mile for yourself and for others, because the blessings and the joy that it brings, is worth every step of the way.

The Extra Mile

Matthew 5:41 NIV
If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

Read the Book, Peel the Onion

Just as the day can be so dreary, it can be so amazingly beautiful. People can appear to be a bit dreary unless we take the time to get to know them.
Be compassionate and care about one another without judging or assuming. Everyone can have a bad day, week, month, or even a year, but that is only one layer of the onion, or one page or chapter in their book. We have to read the book and turn each page to get to the end. You have to peel their onion layers back to realize the depth and beauty of their soul. You have no idea what they went through on their journey to the present with the troubles, the ups and downs, and the different paths life took them down to become who they are today. You may find an award-winning story within an awesome person that you would have never known otherwise. We must take time to learn about people and become caring and closer with them. It is then that we will truly understand others and bind the world with love and unity.
Celebrate life with people and create an amazingly beautiful day in journey of life.
